05 Aug Culver City Police Department National Night Out 2015
It was a great opportunity for residents to meet and get to know Police Chief Scott Bixby and the men and women of our police department. Like Coffee With A Cop, the Citizen’s Police Academy and the Annual Open House, National Night Out gives residents a chance to ask questions, share concerns, and have personal contact with our PD in a positive social setting. It’s community policing at its best.
It also gave neighbors a chance to meet the Culver City Fire Chief Dave White and Disaster Preparedness Coordinator Christine Parra, and community non-profits like CERT, Walk n’ Rollers, Ballona Creek Renaissance, AYSO Region 19, and the local Boy Scouts Troop 113.
The successful event was attended by approx. 500 people this year. It was the best turn-out yet! Many thanks to to the those who came out to picnic in the park with PD – and to the volunteers and supporters who made it possible. It was catered by Santa Maria’s Barbeque, with the generous support of local businesses Trader Joe’s, Target, Westfield Culver City, Cedars-Sinai, Smashbox, Costco, Olive Garden as well as the Culver City Chamber of Commerce.
